One of the best things about running your own photography business is the people you meet along the way. Tanya and I started our photography journeys around the same time, and for years we’ve been cheering each other on over Instagram – swapping messages, celebrating wins, and sharing the real-life ups and downs of business.
This year, we finally decided it was time to meet in person. And what better way for two photographers to hang out than to take each other’s branding photos in one of the most colourful corners of London – Spitalfields.
We met, we laughed, we snapped, we chatted. There was coffee, lunch, plenty more photos, and a whole lot of fun in between. Shooting Tanya was brilliant – though I’ll admit, photographing another photographer comes with a little bit of extra pressure! Luckily, she made it easy, and the whole day was full of energy, colour and creativity.
What I love about branding photography is that it’s not just about having a nice headshot (though of course we nailed a few of those too!). It’s about capturing your personality, your style, your vibe – because you are your brand. The streets of Spitalfields gave us the perfect backdrops – from colourful walls to character-filled streets – a dream for anyone wanting content that feels fresh, fun and a little bit different.
I’d absolutely love to shoot more London branding sessions. The city is buzzing with so much colour and texture, it’s the perfect playground for creative photos that really show who you are. And of course, if you’re closer to home, I’m always here as your friendly Essex branding photographer too.
