Two years ago, I had the privilege of capturing a surprise London book shop engagement photoshoot that still makes my heart skip a beat. James, who was all the way in the US, reached out to me with a wonderfully romantic plan: he was going to propose to his girlfriend, Izzy, in one of London’s most charming bookshops—Daunt Books in Marylebone. As a published author, Izzy’s love for books made it the perfect spot for a proposal. How incredible is that?

When James contacted me, he had everything planned down to the finest detail. My job? Be discreet and capture the magic without being seen. Now, that’s not easy when you’re in the middle of the most beautiful bookshop in London! But trust me, I was so ready for the challenge. As James dropped to one knee, the excitement and surprise in the air were electric. And Izzy? She was so overwhelmed that she didn’t even notice me snapping away for a solid 3-4 minutes! That’s how wrapped up in the moment they both were—and how truly magical it was.

Once the proposal was done, we took a stroll through the streets of London for their London engagement shoot. The sun was out, the city was buzzing, and every corner offered a stunning backdrop for their portraits. Honestly, it was one of those shoots where everything just clicked. The love between Izzy and James was contagious, and they completely trusted me to capture their joy.
